Obituary for Susan (Sue) Friedli
Susan Barbara (Jares) Friedli, of Kingston, Tennessee, passed away August 22, 2017, unexpectedly at her home in Kingston, Tennessee. Sue was born May 31, 1950 in Staples, Minnesota to Helen Rose (Adamietz) Jares. She attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Staples High School in 1968, followed by Wadena Technical College, where she studied early computers. Sue worked for the ROTC program at the University of Minnesota. On April 21, 1975, she married John (Jack) Friedli and they moved to Harriman, TN, where they operated a cheese factory. Sue and Jack eventually made their home in Kingston, TN. Most of her working career was spent at Y-12 Nuclear Security Complex in TN. She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Harriman.
She spent many hours in her beloved gardens, and planned her summers around her annual trips back to Minnesota to share planting with her mom. In recent years, she looked forward to her “Sister Trips.” Sue reveled in the joy of being an aunt to her many special nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Friedli, mother Helen Rose Jares, grandparents John and Frances Adamietz. She is mourned by her siblings and their families, her stepchildren, and many, many close friends in Tennessee and Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, August 26,2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples with Father Joe Korf presiding. Visitation from 9:30 -11:00 am prior to the mass. Interment Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.
