Gregory Daniel Barto was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 5th, 1954 to Daniel & Shirley Barto. They were living in New Castle, Delaware at the time. The family moved to Silver Bay, MN in 1956. They moved to Brooklyn Park, MN in 1967. Greg lived in North Minneapolis, MN in the early 80’s. He met and was in a long term partnership with Dorothy (Dottie) Fischer for 10 years. Greg raised Dottie’s children Marie & Jenny as his own. The family moved to a 40 acre hobby farm in Milaca, MN in 1990 and Greg lived there until his passing. He sold artwork most of his life and also worked at Cabella’s with a specialty in black powder rifles. Greg loved his family, friends, his animals, hunting, fishing, swimming, going to church and helping people when he could. He liked having conversations with a cup of coffee or a can of green tea. He had a big heart, a quirky sense of humor and he will be greatly missed by many people. Greg was preceded to Heaven by his Grandparents, Frank & Nellie Barto and Roland & Blanche McGuire and by Dorothy Fischer. We believe Greg is in Heaven looking over family: Parents, Dan & Shirley Barto; brother Rick Barto, sister Cindy Troutman, children Marie Wildhirt & Jenny Fischer, Grandchildren Katie Bergman, Jacob Bixby, Jasmine Wildhirt, Kelly Haider, Tina Nelson, Tyler Nelson, Brooke Linder, Madison Linder, & Meghan Linder and Great Granddaughter Claire.
