Jeanne was raised on her parents' farm near Leader. Jeanne married her high school sweetheart, Russell Neterval, in Motley on January 21, 1968, at the Motley Methodist Church. Jeanne originally went to college for her Business Degree but ended up graduating with a Criminology Degree in 1986. Jeanne worked as a Correctional Officer at the Stearns County Sheriff's Department for 25 years; retiring to her dream home with her husband in 2012. Jeanne explained her daughters as follows; “They are very different people, but yet alike in so many ways. They are strong-willed, intelligent and capable women. A story Jeanne, told Kaleigh before she had passed expressed the family as known for taking in children who needed parents and guidance. “You always hear about the wicked stepmother, but in this family, a small heart never once beat”. This family contains a line of women who were the keepers of big hearts, capable of loving whoever needed that love, care, and protection; for this family Love is second nature. One can not express the love Jeanne gave to us all. Jeanne is preceded in death by her beloved mother; Neva McCoy and brother, Roy Welsh. Funeral service for Jeanne will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 11AM at Motley Free Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at the church.
