Loren Enos Mills age 78 of Staples, MN passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019 in his home. Loren was born October 11, 1940 in Appleton, MN to Bernice (Sprague) and Glen Mills. Loren was United in Marriage to Marilyn Hansen on October 21, 1961 in Motley, MN. When they got married they moved to East Grand Forks where Loren worked at the sugar beet factory for a year. Loren and Marilyn moved back to Staples and have lived there for the last 58 years. He worked as a carpenter for Perry Morris, Fred Becker, and Paul Metzler for many years. Then he went on his own to become a successful cabinet builder named Mills Cabinetry. Loren was also in parades for many years as the Little Pondarosa with his Miniature horses. Loren had a hobby farm that he took great pride and joy in with horses, chickens, and rabbits. He also had gardens and flowers he would take care of. He loved deer hunting, fishing, and making special things for his children and grandchildren. Loren will be remembered for his many stories he loved to tell. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ronda Harkin; son-in-law, James Harkin; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers. Loren will be deeply missed by his wife, Marilyn; children, Rodney Mills of Staples, Randy (Lisa) Mills of Wadena, Renda (Tommy) Arundel of Staples; daughter-in-law, Theresa Mills of Blackduck; grandchildren, Jake Mills (Fiancee, Amy Boelter) of Verndale, Kevin (Vonnette) Mills of International Falls, Kimberly (Wolfgang) Teklenburg of Fargo, ND, Robert Mills of Wadena, Leah Mills (Fiance, Josh DeYoung) of New York Mills, Ryan Mills (Fiancee Mere Cochran) of Wadena, Ashley (Travis) McGillivray of Staples, Andrea Arundel of Staples, Hannah (Matt) Masog of Little Falls, Daniel Harkin of Little Falls; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Wyatt, Ganyn, Bradyn, Avery, Jaxton, Mona, Marley, and Nathan; siblings, Louis Mills and Bessie Clews. Funeral service for Loren will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, August 19, 2019 at Taylor Funeral Home in Staples. Visitation from 12:00-2:00pm. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.
