Terry Wayne Hines

Terry Hines, born on August 2, 1949, in Brainerd, MN, passed away surrounded by love and family on January 17, 2025 at his home in Brainerd. He was the beloved son of the late Walter and Agnes (Britton) Hines. Terry grew up in Brainerd, graduating from Washington High School.

On March 14, 1970, Terry married the love of his life, Mary Wood, in Brainerd. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories.

Terry had a passion for the outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he especially enjoyed deer and duck hunting and spent countless hours on the water casting lines. He was also known for his big heart—his love for children and animals was evident in the joy he brought to everyone around him.

A true jokester, Terry had a knack for teasing and joking around, particularly with his nieces and nephews, who adored his playful spirit. His infectious laughter and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Terry worked for many years as a machine operator at Stewart’s Forest Products in Brainerd, where he was a dedicated and valued employee.

Terry’s life was a testament to kindness, joy, and the importance of family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by wife, Mary Hines; children, Dean (Lanet Wynn) Hines and Sandy (Ronnie) Hines-Huchel; brother, Dennis (Theresa) Hines; sister, Jeannie (Loni) LeDoux; grandchildren, Chass Kehl and Anthony (Jess) Kehl and great-grandchildren, Amiya, Draven, and Lydia.

Terry was preceded in death by parents, Walter and Agnes Hines; sister, Sherry Zelinske and son, Byron Hines.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for the spring. Caring for Terry and his family is the Halvorson-Taylor Funeral Home in Brainerd, MN.
