AJ Lutter, age 75, of Brainerd, MN, passed away on December 31, 2024. Born in Jamestown, North Dakota, on February 4, 1949, to Mary (Kilsdonk) and Peter Lutter.


AJ lived a life full of creativity, passion, faith, and love for family and friends.


AJ will be remembered for his incredible artistry as the creator of world famous chain saw sculptures, proudly presented at his Brainerd gallery "Come See What I Saw" and at many county and state fairs nationwide.

His talent for transforming logs into captivating works of art was matched only by his love for sharing his creations with the world.


He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; their children, Becky (Gary) Spetzler, Clover Lutter, Greg (Vickie) Bigler, Kristine (Rick) Bigler, April (James) Erfurth, and Matt Moris; daughter-in-law, Lynnie Neutgent (Jefferey); grandchildren, Andrew (Amy) Bigler, Alanna (Brandon) Liffrig, Billy (Alysia) Bigler, Brady (Kelsey) Bigler, Ethan (Gracen) Erfurth, Ibby (Micah) Moyer, Abe Erfurth, Luke Moris, Logan Moris, Oscar Spetzler, and Erik Spetzler; and great-grandchildren, Maverick Liffrig, Quinny Liffrig, Annamae Bigler, Bernie Bigler, Bryce Bigler, Jackson Bigler, and Theo Bigler. AJ is also survived by his brothers,Gene (Shirley), and Gerry (Brenda); sisters, Clare (Allen) Hultgren, and Betty Lahr; sister- in- law, Danni Lutter (Edward).


AJ was preceded in death by his sons, Jacob Andrew, Seth Daniel, and Jefferey Bigler; and his brothers, Edward and Joseph.


A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2024, from 5:00–7:00 PM, with a sharing of memories at 7:00 PM, at the Halvorson Taylor Life Events Center in Brainerd, MN. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
