It is with deep sorrow that we annouce the passing of Alayne B. Pertier, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend. Alayne passed away peacfully at Northern Lakes Senior Living in Baxter, MN on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the age of 82 years.
Alayne was born October 2, 1941, and grew up in Esko, Minnesota. After high school she met and married her soulmate Gary Pertler. They were together 63 years until Gary passed in November 2023. Alayne and Gary raised their two children Beth and Thom in Anoka, Minnesota where Alayne worked for the counseling department at Anoka Senior High School. Alayne was great cook and exceptional baker who loved to host family and friends for holiday celebrations and get-togethers.
Throughout their life Alayne and Gary loved to travel. They enjoyed numerous trips abroad and throughout the US. After Gary retired they bought a home on Lake Mille Lacs and after a number of years of fishing and hosting friends and relatives they moved to Baxter, Minnesota.
Alayne had a quick wit and everyone loved her. Throughout her life and retirement she remained close with family and friends, always checking in and planning vistits.
Left to cerish her memory are her daughter, Beth Mosley; son-in-law, Scott Mosley; brother, Brad and wife Marlys McKinstry; grandchildren, Anne Mosley, Maddie Belden, Jack, Anders, and Caleb Pertler; 3 great-grandchildren; and many wonderful friends. Alayne is preceded in death by her husband, Gary D. Pertler; and son, Thomas H. Pertler who are remembered lovingly by all.
A memorial service and luncheon for Alayne will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 11AM at Halvorson Taylor Life Events Center in Brainerd. Visitation will be held on hour prior to the service.
