Alma Katherine Miller was born April 29, 1925 to Lars and Henrietta Bollesen. She attended Danish elementary school and graduated from Tyler High School. After graduation she worked for the war effort in California and then continued her education at Grand View College before graduating from the University of MN, St Paul. She was hired to teach Home Economics in Brainerd in 1948, met her husband Bob Miller and started their family. Alma’s history demonstrates hard work, commitment to family, church/civic activities, pleasure in relationships, lifelong learning and pride in her Danish heritage. Alma passed away at Good Samaritan Birchwood on May 4, 2021 after celebrating her 96th birthday. Alma is survived by her loving children, Jerry(Kate) of Dauphin Manitoba, Chuck(Kathy) of Grand Rapids MN and Jean(Greg) of Minneapolis, six grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Alma also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and a treasure chest of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband and a rich trove of associates. Her family would like to thank the staff at Woodland/Birchwood Good Samaritan Society and St Croix Hospice for the loving care they provided. Memorials preferred to Danebod Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Church or the donors choice. A celebration of life for Alma will be held on Monday, May 24 at 3PM at Halvorson Taylor Life Events Center. Visitation will be from 2-3PM at the funeral home. Refreshments to follow.
