Amy Maria Smith, age 41 of Baxter died April 13, 2025 at Essentia Health Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota. Amy was born on her Aunt Veronika's birthday on December 6, 1983. She was always a happy child, with a constant smile on her face. At 6 years old, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and given from 6 months to a year to live. God had other plans. Her family moved to Minnesota where she was treated at United Children's Hospital along with the Mayo Clinic. She beat the odds. She survived brain cancer twice, colon cancer, and a softball sized tumor in her abdomen. Amy loved beading, coloring, painting, and building book markers, which she shared with everyone. Amy lit up every room that she walked into with the light of God's love. She never met a stranger and she told everyone she met how Jesus had saved her from cancer. Amy won her reward on Sunday, April 13, 2025 when she home to be with her beloved Jesus. She always talked about being with "God and Jesus" in Heaven.
She is survived by her father Bill Smith, mother Paula Smith; sister Sarah Smith, brother Tanner Isiah; two nieces Zoey and Ariel; one nephew Joshua; along with aunts, uncles, and cousins.
There will be a Celebration of Amy's life on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Assembly of
God , Baxter, Minnesota.
