Ava Louise Starr, 11, passed away Friday, June 19th, 2026. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 24th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Halvorson Taylor Funeral in Brainerd, Minnesota, with visitation one hour before the service.

Ava was a student at Forestview Middle School, where she was known for being a social butterfly with a vibrant personality. She loved hunting with her dad and fishing with her family. Ava excelled at everything that she did. Ava loved tanning, spending time with her bestie Erin, making dance videos with her sister, Loghan, spending far too much time in the Starbucks drive-through, and loving her cat, Ivy. Ava was a light in the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a remarkable ability to make people smile and could fill a room with laughter. There are no words that can truly express the pain of losing such a bright and beautiful soul.

Ava is survived by her parents Jason Starr and Chelsie Miller, older brother Camden Starr, younger sister Loghan Starr, Grandmother Jamie Miller, and Grandmother Deanna Welch (Donald Welch), aunties Michelle Starr (Chrissy Stellmach), Shannon Miller (Heather Miller), Crystal Skiba (Joe Skiba), Ryan Hegarty (Sean Hegarty), Alisa Travaglio (Tom Travaglio), Bailey Lease (Kevin Lease), Mackensie Miller (Ben Fetters), Cousins Tony Skiba, Callie Brown, Colton Oneal, Tracy Skiba, Abby Skiba, Joey Skiba, Carter Westphal, Gracie Skiba, Kaylee Westphal, Hazel Fetters, Finley Lease, Milo Miller. Preceded in death by Grandfathers Douglas Starr and William Miller.
