Beatrice Roberts

Beatrice “Bea” Ellen Roberts, age 85, of Crosby went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 11, 2019. Bea was born on September 15, 1934 in Brainerd to Sid & Doris (Morgan) Bowman. She graduated from Brainerd High School and went on to marry Eldon Roberts of Crosby, on June 14, 1952. She was a lady of many talents, living on the farm and doing numerous jobs. Being self-employed with her husband, driving school bus, delivering mail and working at the Holiday Inn. After the death of her husband, she went to work at Potlatch to support her family and retired there after 17 years. Bea was active in the Crosslake Legion for 25 years as Chaplain. She also volunteered at the Crosslake Community Senior Center, preparing meals for seniors, belonged to many painting clubs in Brainerd, and was very active in her church and Bible studies. Bea loved gardening, flowers, painting and was a very talented artist. She also made many, many beautiful cakes for all occasions. Bea ran the fine arts at the Crow Wing County Fair for 20 years, winning the Grand Champion honor. She was a blessing to all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Juanita (Jo); sons: Richard, Merle (Roxie), Larry, Lesley and Bruce all of Crosby, and Tony (Sue) of Nisswa; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Sid Bowman of KY; sister, Bonnie Fenstermaker of Pequot Lakes. Bea is preceded in death by her parents; husband Eldon; sons, Weldon and Brian; sister Beverly Garro. Funeral service for Bea will be held on Saturday October 19, 2019 at 11AM at Halvorson Life Events Center (512 S 8th St, Brainerd). Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 4-7PM at Halvorson Taylor Life Events Center, and one hour prior to the services, Saturday at the funeral home.
