Betty Jo Nichols, 76 year old resident of Staples, MN passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024 at the Lakewood Care Center in Staples, MN. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Staples, MN. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M until 12:00 P.M. on Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Staples, MN. Betty Jo was born to Jack and Rayma Thorn on March 29th, 1948 in Staples, MN. Betty lived in Alaska and California throughout her life but resided in Staples, MN for many years.

Waitressing was her passion, and she was the best waitress you'd ever met. She focused most of her time on her two wonderful children and making beautiful memories with her only grandchild.

Anyone who knew Betty knew she was kind hearted and was great company. She had a few hobbies and passions including a lovely Betty Boop collection. She dedicated a room to her collection having many Boop memorabilia and personalized Betty Jo Boop items. Along from collecting, Betty Jo would make the world's BEST buns. You could not leave her house without a package of buns in your hands. When she wasn't in the kitchen, she loved to knit, especially slippers! Every Birthday or Christmas you'd know at least one of your gifts, specialized slippers, just for you. Betty Jo always made you feel welcome.

Preceding Betty Jo in death were here parents Jack and Rayma; her sister, Cheri Belling; her nephew, Ryan Thorn and her brother-in-law, Bill Agnew.

Greatly loved, she will be remembered by her children Kenneth (Rosi) Johnson and Denise (Chance) Stoecker; her grandchild Tesla Anderson; her siblings Joy Agnew and Tom (Sandra) Thorn; and by many other family and friends.
