Cheri Maxwell

Cheryl (Cheri) Renee Maxwell, age 66, of Brainerd, Minnesota, passed away in her home, surrounded by family, from an aggressive form of cancer. Cheri was born April 28, 1956, in Warren, Minnesota, to Walter and Bernadine Peterson.

Cheri had a loving and giving spirit. She was generous, almost to a fault. She loved being around people, offering a smile and a wave to both friends and strangers. Cheri enjoyed jobs where she could reach others. These included serving as Study Hall monitor at the high school and volunteering at the nursing home. She believed in respect and honesty and was able to connect with all ages.

Cheri was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Kathy Auringer and Karen Backman. She is survived by her wife, Kathy Ogden, daughters Paula (Jay) Lang and Jessica (Tom) Teasck, grandchildren Zachary Sjodin, and Ayla and Kaden Teasck; stepsons Timothy Schultz ( children Desmond and PennyJane), Thomas Schultz (Misty Briese, daughter Clarissa); brother Carl Peterson, and sister Peggy (Roger) Jacobson.

A Celebration of Life will be held April 28, 2023. Place and time to be determined
