Dale Victor DiGiovanni age 76, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on June 3, 2024, at his home located in Poplar Township. Born to Alice and Celestine "Joe" DiGiovanni on October 26, 1947, in Motley, MN.
Dale's early years were shared with his siblings, Caroline, Jerome, Dean, Bruce, Roy, Ned, Kathleen, Nina, Ruthie, Terry, Dewey, and Scott, creating a tapestry of memories on the family farmstead north of Motley, MN, a place he always considered home. A graduate of Motley High School, he went on to serve a term in the Army, and then attended Wadena Vocational School, where he earned a degree as a Electrician.
Professionally, Dale was an Electrician joining the I.B.E.W Union in which he dedicated over 30 years in both the Metro, and later the Brainerd Lakes Area. In 1987 he pursued his dream of purchasing his farmstead. Because of his strong work ethic, for several years he worked as an electrician by day and a farmer by night, Dale knew what it meant to put in a full day's work.
Dale took pride in being a father to his children Christopher, Chanse, Tessa, Kallie, and Luke, sharing a unique loving relationship with each of them filled with love and lifes lessons as he perceived them. Dale's legacy is also carried on by his adored grandchildren: Cody, Mariah, Elliott, Brayde, Sharlene Yvonne, Nathan, Isabella, Elliana, Keegan, Davina, Kenzie, TerriAnn, Miranda and Tayton. Each of them will remember their grandfather for his unconditional love, whether he was teaching them little life lessons, taking them for a ride to check on the cattle, or being a jokester with them.
An avid outdoorsman, Dale found solace in the serenity of nature. His hobbies included Hunting, fishing, camping, working with his hands, and his livestock. His home was filled with the sounds of a Western on the TV, his favorites being acted by John Wayne. His home decorated with the intricate scenes of his antiques, each piece placed with precision and care. Dale's greatest Joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren as he would watch them speed around the garage on their Big wheels, trikes, and bikes, and "sneaking" them a treat before they left. From his Potato Salad, to Hotdishes, Dale knew how to put on a tasty meal for his family.
Predeceased by his parents, sisters Ruthie and Kathleen, brother Scott, wife Yvonne, son Christopher, and grandchild Sharlene Yvonne, Dale's memory is honored and kept alive by his children, his cherished grandchildren, his brothers Jerome, Bruce, Dean, Roy, Ned, Terry, Dewey, sisters Caroline and Nina, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life gathering will take place on June 22, 2024 at 2:00 PM located at Dale's residence. To honor Dale's memory, the family asks that a potluck dish or dessert be brought, Pulled-Pork Sandwiches will be served by the family. Dale's ashes will later be spread across the property.
