Denise Young

Denise, 63, was born on June 5,1957, in Staples to Bertha (Lee) and Patrick Young. She passed away peacefully at the St. Cloud Hospital on 4/14/2021 at 2:30 am. Denise graduated from the Staples-Motley High School in 1976 and was a member of the Church of Christ in Staples, MN. After graduation, Denise attended the Staples Vocational Technical Institute. She held various jobs throughout her lifetime including work at the Rising Phoenix, housekeeping at the Wadena Inn and was self-employed as a caregiver. She volunteered as an assistant teacher for 5 years and enjoyed working with children. Denise enjoyed nature walks, gardening, and loved her pets dearly. She was a talented artist and will be dearly missed. Denise is survived by her brother, Tony (Dorothy) Young from Staples, MN; sisters, Gwendolyn (Clarence) Schoon from Sebeka and Marcy Young from Litchfield; sister-in-law, Judy Young from Staples. She had eight nieces and five nephews. Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Bertha Young; brothers, Toby and Mort Young. A memorial service was held at 11:00 A.M. on April 24,2021, at the Church of Christ in Staples with Rev. Barry Klein officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Church. Interment will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Staples. Caring for Denise and her family is the Taylor Funeral Home in Staples, MN.
