Donna Marie Gode

Donna Marie Gode, 73 year old resident of Brainerd, MN passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at her home in Brainerd, MN.Donna was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and a great grandmother. She grew

up in Peabody, Massachusetts where she spent many hours enjoying the ocean she loved so

much. She had many great memories of being at Salem Willows and doing lots of fun activities

with her sister. After graduating from high school, she met & married Bruce Kilmer who was in

the Navy (same as her dad). They lived in Florida for 5 years and then moved to Brunswick,

Maine where they had their first child, Jocelyn. Bruce then decided to join the Army National

Guard and the family moved to Long Prairie, Minnesota. After 4 years of trying to have their 2nd

child they had another daughter, Jayme. The marriage did not last long after she was born and

Donna became a single mom for many years. 25 years ago, Donna met the love of her life, Paul

Gode. God knew she was meant to be with Paul. She fell madly in love with him and within a

year of getting to know each other they decided to get married. Donna moved to Brained,

Minnesota and lived out the rest of her life with her husband and her dogs Annie, Bacon, and

Rosie. Donne was an avid reader her whole life reading thousands of books. Another passion

was racing. She loved watching Nascar and attending races at the local dirt tracks across upper

Minnesota. She truly enjoyed going to the track with Paul and spending time with him there.

Donna was loved by her family and her friends. She will truly be missed.

DonnaMarie was preceded in death by her father Henry Murphy, mother Patrica Murphy,

Nephew, Jason Coughlin and other family members. She is survived by her husband Paul

Gode, daughters Jocelyn (Damien) Patton, Jayme (Oscar) Arevalo, grandchildren Chloe,

Annabella, and Micah and two great grandchildren, Meridth and Robert. She will have her

ashes spread at Salem Willows Park in Salem, Massachusetts. She will be at rest near the

ocean that she loved so much.
