Douglas Lee Bohn

May 23, 1949 — May 31, 2022

Douglas L. Bohn entered this world, a gift from God, on May 23, 1949. He was called to his eternal home in Heaven on May 31, 2022, at the age of 73, free at last from the constraints of Alzheimer's Disease. Doug was born in Minneapolis, MN to George and Dorothy Bohn. He attended Burnsville High School, Augsburg College, and the University of MN. He married Janice Maier on October 20, 1973. They moved to Nisswa where they built a home in 1979, and raised their two children, Jennifer and Erik.

Doug had a lifelong love of the outdoors and was active all his life. He hunted and fished for many years, and enjoyed hiking, biking and camping. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated friend. He was known for his kind, giving, and humble spirit, and his subtle humor. He loved coaching youth baseball and floor hockey; was a Sunday school teacher, church deacon, church youth club leader, and Salvation Army bell ringer; and was involved in leadership roles in 4-H, and cub scouts.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy.

He is survived by his wife Jan, his children: Jennifer (Denny) and Erik (Ashley): his granddaughter Josephine: his sisters: Marilyn (Fred) Wilson and Kari (Rob) Bohn: plus nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Halvorson Taylor Life Events Center, Brainerd, MN at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, June 14th. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Salvation Army or the Alzheimer's Association.
