Duane L Jensen

Duane L. Jensen, Sr., age 80 of Crosby died at his home on October 10, 2023. Duane was born on June 1, 1943, on a farm south of Ogilvie in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, to Hans Arnold Jensen and Eleanor Peterson Jensen, the fourth of eight children.

He was a kind and gentle man, always willing to give of himself and offer a hand. He was employed as a mason at the Brainerd State Hospital for over 30 years. Previously he worked at Potlatch Corporation and earlier with the Crow Wing County Surveyor, as well as always working side jobs.

Hunting, fishing and the outdoors were his favorite hobbies, along with spending time with family.

Duane is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard; a step-son, Jimmy Hughes and a grandson, Aiden Jensen.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; children and spouses, Duane Jensen, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Charles Town, West Virginia, Paula and her husband David Rardin of Brainerd and David Jensen of Brainerd, as well as one grandson, seven granddaughters, five great-grandsons and seven great-granddaughters. Also, by step-daughter Lisa Hughes and her husband Randy Knopik of Crosby and their children and grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Marion Carter, Ronald and Marlis Jensen, Dale and Peggy Jensen and Sharon Jensen of Brainerd, Howard and Joyce Jensen of Bemidji and Judy and Keith Igo of Ashland, Wisconsin. Also, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.


A memorial service for Duane will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the Halvorson Taylor Life Events Center in Brainerd.
