Duwayne (Duke) R Kollodge

July 6, 1944 — April 1, 2025

DuWayne (Duke) Kollodge passed away April 1, 2025 from end stage ALS. Per his wishes, he spent his end days at home being cared for by his wife Carol. Duke was born in St. Cloud, MN to Clarine and Ray Kollodge on July 6, 1944. He is surely welcomed by his brother-in-law, Rock DuCharme and his beloved sister, Darleen Salo who went before him. Duke was a large presence and commanded a room with his booming voice and humor in any situation. He loved his family beyond all else and his mantra of “if you don’t have family, you have nothing” is whispered on the wind today and forever. His second love was cribbage and he played frequently, even when he needed help shuffling cards and moving pegs, until ALS took that away from him. He leaves behind his beautiful daughters, Jody Salen (John), Lisa Oswskey (Brian), and Sara Kollodge. His grandchildren held his heart and will be forever loved, Hannah Fischer (Colin), Tess Salen, Noah and Mitchell Hill and Lucas and Jamison (Oswskey). His newest bright light was his first great grandchild, August (Gus) Fischer. He and his wife, Carol, would have celebrated their 56th anniversary in November and she feels blessed to have been there until he took his last breath in the home he wanted to be. He will be forever missed by his brothers, Denny, Darryl, David and Larry Salo (who he always considered a brother) and everyone whose life he touched in his 80 years. Per his request, there will be no funeral. He wanted a celebration of life on his birthday (July 6, 2025). Details to be announced at a later date.
