Eileen Dorothy Iverson

Eileen D. Iverson died on June 21, 2022. She was born on March 3, 1924 to Ruth and Henry Hansen in Minneapolis. Eileen graduated from South High School in 1942 and the University of Minnesota in 1946 with a major in Social Studies, Education and a minor in English. She taught for thirty eight years, the last twenty nine of which were at Brainerd High School.

Following retirement, Eileen became active in Retired Educators Association of Minnesota and the Minnesota Senior Federation. Her last volunteering was with the Center in the gift shop.

Eileen married Russell Iverson in 1962. They lived at Round Lake in Nisswa for many years. In 2015, they left the lake and moved to the Woodland Senior Apartments in Brainerd. Shortly after that, Russell died after a courageous battle with a blood disorder. Preceding Eileen in death were her parents, one sister, Lois Timpte, her brother, John Hansen and her beloved husband Russell.

Surviving are one sister, Marilyn Ellertson and husband Tom, sister in law, Janet Hansen, three daughters of Lois: Karen, Jane and Barbara and their families, and three daughters of Marilyn: Dana, Leslie, and Debbie and their families.

Barbara Wilson was Eileen’s health care agent and wonderful caregiver. Eileen was also survived by her great table mates at Woodland. By her request, Eileen will be cremated. There will be no service.
