Eleanor Owen

Eleanor Jean [Christiansen] Owen was born on September 6, 1932 in Bemidji, MN to Adolph and Tilda Christiansen.

While living in Roswell, NM, and working as a telephone operator, she met her future husband, Jack Owen of Kalamazoo, MI. The couple were married in May of 1954, and set up residence in Bemidji, MN.

In 1962 Eleanor and Jack moved their family to Minneapolis, MN, where they raised 6 children.

In 1978, they moved their family to Baxter, MN, residing for the last 47 years.

Eleanor loved gardening, sewing, reading, cooking and quilting. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends as well. She loved birds, especially Cardinals and Blue Birds, and everywhere you looked in her home, you would see one.

Eleanor took great pride and joy in her family. She excelled at being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was amazing at remembering birthdates, anniversaries and special occasions.

Eleanor will be sadly missed by her Sons; Kelly [Karrie] Owen, Darin [Cathy] Owen. Daughters; Carla Owen, Karen Owen, and Carolyn Owen. Grandchildren; Kyle, Khloe, Devin and Magnus.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, parents, 7 brothers and 2 sisters, son Stuart and granddaughter Kaylyn.

A family Memorial service will be held at a future date.
