Elizabeth E. Burke

Elizabeth Burke, 101 year old resident of Baxter, MN passed away with her family by her side on May 11, 2024 at Edgewood in Baxter, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Garrison, MN with Father George Zeck officiating. Burial will take place in the Garrison Cemetery in Garrison, MN. A visitation will be held from 10-11 A.M. on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Garrison, MN. Caring for Elizabeth and her family is the Halvorson-Taylor Funeral Home in Brainerd, MN.

Elizabeth was born on February 12, 1923 in St. Paul, MN to the late Leo and Lillian (Quehl) Hanrahan. She worked at First Trust Company Bank for many years as a bookkeeper. Elizabeth was united in marriage to Edwin Burke in 1958 and the couple lived in the Twin Cities and later moved to Garrison, MN in the 70's. She worked at Woodland Containers as a bookkeeper until she retired . Elizabeth was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Garrison, MN, Garrison Lioness and volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital in the gift shop. She loved to play Bridge and Cribbage even after she turned 100 years old and was still very competitive. Elizabeth was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, Robert (Carla) Tiling of The Villages, FL and Mary (Paul) Baillif of Brainerd, MN; step-daughter, Connie (Vinnie) Rosenquist; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Leo and Lillian Hanrahan; husband, Edwin Burke; siblings, Robert Hanrahan, Mildred Hanrahan, Jeanne Fraher and Dolores Hazuka.
