Frank L Strange

It is with great sadness we announce that Frank Strange went to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 25, 2023 at St. Joseph’s in Brainerd MN. Frank was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, great papa, and friend who will be deeply missed. Frank was born in Diagonal, Iowa on February 11, 1942 to Glen and Nina Strange. He graduated from Brainerd High School in 1960 where he met the love of his life, Sandra Larson. Frank and Sandy were married March 28, 1959 and had 64 wonderful years together. Anyone who knew them could feel their love for each other. They raised their 3 sons, Michael, Tony, and Tharon on their horse farm in Brainerd MN. Their passion was raising, training, and showing Arabian horses which they won many awards, ribbons, and trophies for. Frank attended River Falls College to be a farrier and graduated at the top of his class. Frank went on to become one of the very few Certified Master Farriers in the United States. Frank developed and founded the F.L.S. Laminitis Procedure for horses. He was able to travel and help many horses with this procedure. Anyone who traveled with Frank knew this meant a trip of storytelling and hot tamales. Frank loved to fish, hunt, and be outdoors. His family and friends will remember his sense of humor and his knack for telling stories, which they will miss the most. He attended the Assembly of God church in Baxter for many years. He was also a long time member of The Northern Minnesota Arabian Horse Association.

Frank is survived by his wife; Sandy Strange, Siblings; Glenda Svendsen, Tom (Darlene) Strange, Judy (Mel) Courtley, Sons; Michael (Lisa) Strange, Tony (Becky) Strange, Tharon (Brenda) Strange; Grandchildren; Aaron Hollister, Isaac Strange, Britteny (Josh) VonHaden, Christine Strange, and Great Grandchildren; Mekenzi Strange, Adleigh VonHaden, Gabriel VonHaden, Grace VonHaden.

The celebration of life, planned for June 11, 2023 from 2-5 pm, was changed from Whipple Beach to Oscar Kristofferson Park in Baxter MN .
