Gary Duane Pertler

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gary D. Pertler, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and dear friend. Gary passed away peacefully at Northern Lakes Senior Living in Baxter, MN on Saturday, November 25th, 2023 at the age of 87 years.

Gary was born on JUly 1, 1936 and grew up in Cloquet, MN. He graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth earning double major degrees in math and geography. He married his love, Alayne McKinstry and together they raised their two children in Anoka, MN where Gary taught math and geography until he retired. Gary was a master carpenter and created many beautiful handmade wooden pieces, as well as building his first home and remodeling his cabin on Lake Mille Lacs. Traveling was his passion and he enjoyed wonderful trips with his wife abroad and in the US.

Gary will be forever lovingly remembered by his wife, Alayne Pertler; daughter, Beth Mosley, son-in-law, Scott Mosely; grandchildren, Anne Mosley, Maddie Belden, Jack, Anders, and Caleb Pertler; 3 great-grandchildren and many wonderful friends. Gary was preceded in death by his son, Thomas H. Pertler, who is remembered lovingly by all.
