Gerald Louis Bisted

Gerald Louis Bisted (Moose) was born August 3, 1941, at the family farm on Pine Beach Road to Louis and Agnes (Bell) Bisted. Jerry died on Thursday August 29, 2024, at Woodland Good Samaritan in Brainerd. He attended Krech school, Harrison Elementary and Washington High School graduating in 1959, he then attended the Staples Vo-tech for Farm Mechanics. In 1963 he joined the Army Reserves and served as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Operator until 1969. In 1965, he married the love of his life, Amanda (Borowski). Jerry started working for Northwest Paper Company until 1975, before that he did construction work for a variety of local contractors. He resided in Brainerd his whole life continuing the family farm and raising his 3 children.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Amanda; sons, Todd of Brainerd and Benjamin (Sally) of Pine River, and daughter, Dottie Bisted (Tim Ryberg) of Brainerd; grandchildren, Justin (Brooke), Griffin, Kylie, Tate, Paige and Lee Bisted; great-grandchildren, Brontë Graham, Zoey and Aiden Mathison; sister, Bertha (Carlton) Lindsey; sister’s-in-law, Lee Paulson, Kay Borowski and Cornell Bisted; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Morris and Tim Bisted; sister, Barbara Blixt; sister’s-in-law; Rosie Bisted and Laurie Larson; brother’s-In-law, Fritz Paulson, Wally Larson, and Roger Borowski; daughter In-law, Laura Bisted; nephews Al, Jim and George Blixt.

The Family would like to thank Woodland Good Samaritan and the Hospice team for their wonderful loving care.

A funeral service for Jerry will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 4PM at Halvorson Taylor Life Events Center. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment at Gull River Cemetery.
