Jerry was born on July 9, 1936, in Staples to Joseph & Christine (Etzler) Lenk. He grew up on the family farm in Moran Township, and attended District 96, a country school through the eighth grade. Jerry graduated from Staples High School in 1954. He was dedicated to farming and served as an assessor for Moran and Germania Townships for several years. He proudly lived on and operated a century farm founded by his maternal grandfather, Jospeh Etzler. At the time his health declined in 2018, he moved to the Pines Assisted Living in Staples. He cherished the memories of the farm which has been in the family for over 100 years. He liked to reminisce about how things have changed in his lifetime and the auction sales that he and his brother, Robert attended. Jerry enjoyed meeting people, eating at local restaurants, and most of all visiting with family, friends and neighbors.

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Adeline Jasken and Linda Barke; sister-in-law, Gayle Lenk; niece, Tiffany (John) Lynn; nephews, Bernard Jasken, Michael Lenk, Matthew (Lianna) Lenk and Nathan Thiesse; great-nieces, Kia (Edwin) Bell and Lilianna Lenk; great-nephews, Anthony (Nicole) Hansen-Lynn, Garner Lynn and Tobias Lenk.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; infant twin sister, Barbara Lenk; brother, Robert Lenk; nephew, Quinton Thiesse; brothers-in-law, Dudley Thiesse and Martin Barke.

A special thank you to Lakewood Hospice staff for their compassionate care of Jerry in his final days.
