Gerald R. Nix
Born in Willmar, Mn 1947 to: Rolland C Nix and Emma L Nikich, Gerald is to be the first born to them. Followed by 7 more.
Sep.27,1967, Gerald was drafted into Vietnam with the United States Army. He found it to be tough, but a learning situation. He made it through it and was sent home on Sept. 26, 1973. Back home Gerald came to do many things. He moved His Family to Aberdeen, Washington, where he found many jobs. He really loved his job at the Volkswagen repair shop for Norman Callahan. Gerald had many friends through life that he treasured more than anything. He insisted on attending every Nix Family reunion, so nobody forgot who he was.
On May 8, 1972, In Butte Montana, Gerald welcomed his only child into the world. She has been his light for 52 years, and he has been hers. Not always seeing eye to eye, but always loving no matter what....no matter what.
In 1990, Gerald became a grandfather for the first time to David Lee Gerhardt, Then in 1995, welcomed his second Grandson, Joshua Gerhardt. They were his pride and joy!!!
Gerald loved his animals, and all other animals. He gave the utmost care to them. Thank You Kim for giving Marble a home. Thank You Jennifer for giving Jack a home. He had comfort knowing his fuzzy kids would be going to good homes.
Gerald is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Nix) Gerhardt and husband, Dave Gerhardt; grandsons, David Lee and Joshua; Special sister, Lavina Silva; several aunts and uncles; and cousins he thought of very much.
Special thanks to Moments Hospice for the great care and love they put into his last moments. A very special Thank you to Sister Lavina for the love and hope you brought.
