Harold was born on March 23, 1947, in Bertha Minnesota to the late Marcus and Evelyn Tholl. He grew up and attended school in the Motley area where he graduated from Motley High School. In high school he was active in FFA and played basketball and ran track. After graduation he was drafted into the US Army on August of 1969. Harold served in the Vietnam War as a combat medic. He was honorably discharged in March of 1972. Harold was united in marriage to Lynn Pudil in 1973, and after their marriage he enrolled at Bemidji State University and earned a degree in criminal law. He farmed on the family farm in Motley Minnesota his entire life. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing in Alaska, shooting rifles, having coffee with his buddies, playing pool and listening to talk radio. Harold will forever be remembered for his willingness to do a favor or lend a helping hand to his friends and family. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Harold is survived by his sons, Mark (Cecilia) Tholl of Chula Vista, CA, Justin Tholl of Motley, MN and Jason (Melissa) Tholl of Anchorage, AK; sister, Connie (Preston) Mattke of Spicer, MN and grandchildren, Trajan and Sloane.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Evelyn Tholl.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Motley Free Methodist Church in Motley, MN with Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Motley Free Methodist Church in Motley, MN.
