Heather Kleinschmidt

June 19, 1961 — May 23, 2025

Heather Kleinschmidt, 63, of Brainerd, MN, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, at Woodland Good Samaritan Society, Brainerd.

Born to Vernon and Carol Larson on June 19, 1961, Heather lived a life centered around compassion, family, and service to others. A dedicated professional in the healthcare industry for many years, Heather found purpose in helping people — both in her work and in her everyday life. She was known for her selflessness, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Heather had a zest for life, especially in her younger years when she was affectionately known as the "fun aunt." She loved playing softball and was always quick to share a smile or a laugh. But above all else, her family was her whole world. Her beloved son, Ryan, born on May 21, 1988, was the light of her life, and she treasured her role as a mother and later as a grandmother to Brailynn, Hadleigh, and Rhett.

She also carried the memory of her stillborn daughter, Brianna Tobina Kleinschmidt, born August 8, 1990, close to her heart.

Heather is survived by her son, Ryan (Carissa) Kleinschmidt; grandchildren Brailynn, Hadleigh, and Rhett Kleinschmidt; brothers Larry Larson, Mark (Nancy) Larson, David (Candy) Larson, Tim Larson, Chris (JoAnn) Larson, and Kyle Larson; brother-in-law Jerry Hayes; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Brianna Kleinschmidt, parents Vernon and Carol Larson, sisters Cheryl (Bruce) Gangnon and Cindy Hayes, and sister-in-law Dorothy Larson.

Heather will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Arrangements are entrusted to Halverson-Taylor Funeral Home, Brainerd.
