James Charles Newgord

James Charles Newgord, age 78 of Fort Ripley passed suddenly at his home on January 4, 2024. He was born to Marian (Canfield) and William Newgord on October 15, 1945, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He married Elizabeth (Itty) Parker on August 23, 1975, in Faribault, Minnesota.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Marian and William Newgord; and half-brother, Bill Jr.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Itty; son, Tony; grandchildren, Preston (Jada) Newgord, Austin (Kylie) Newgord; great grandchildren, Everleigh, Addaleah, and Paislee; brother, Bob (Anne) Newgord; sisters, Mary Ann Lanarz and Betty (Dave) Geis; also, many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00PM on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Halvorson Taylor Life Events Center in Brainerd followed by a celebration of James' life on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11:00AM at the First Congregational Church, 415 Juniper St, Brainerd with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service at the Church. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, Minnesota.
