James William Trott

James William Trott, age 83, of Brainerd, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024. Jim was born in Brainerd to William & Marie (Nafe) Trott. He married Judith Kaiser on August 10, 1963, in Brainerd. Together they raised six children.

Jim is survived by his children, Mike (Shelly) Trott, Tim (Jackie) Trott, Brian (Sunday) Trott, Suzanne Larson, Amy Bumpus and Sherry Russell; 23 grandchildren;17 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Judi; brothers, Richard and Roger, grandson, Nathan Trott and son-in-law, Randy Russell.

Jim was a charter member of the First Church of Christ in Brainerd where he taught Sunday school for 40 years. He was also a charter member of Lakes Area Church of Christ in Baxter where he served in several capacities. He worked for the Brainerd School District for 36 years. Upon retirement, he worked as a custodian at Park Methodist Church for over 14 years.

Jim enjoyed softball, hunting, fishing and spending time with his wife of 60 years, kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Family was everything.

Services will be on January 4th at 11:00 at Lakes Area Church of Christ. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to funeral at Lakes Area Church of Christ.
