Joan Dahlberg

Joan Dahlberg, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 22, 2020, after a long illness. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Melvin; children: Elissa (Joe) Tarnofsky, Dean (Sandy) Dahlberg; grandchildren: Greg (Isa) Dahlberg, Eric Dahlberg, John Tarnofsky; sisters: Marjory (Doug) Peace, Pam (Howard) Worthington; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Joan was born on June 29, 1934 to Ivy and John Fearn in Manchester, England. Joan and Mel met and were married in England, and then returned to Baxter to live and raise their family. Joan was deeply devoted to her family. She enjoyed traveling to England to visit her sisters and relatives. Joan was very involved in her church, where she had many friends. She was an employee of Brainerd National bank until retirement. Joan was always fun to be around, loving and patient and kind. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten by her family, friend and neighbors. A special note of appreciation to Lorrae Schneider and her team of caregivers who so lovingly cared for Joan. A private family service will be held due to Covid-19. Burial will be at the Barnum Riverside Cemetery.
