Joseph S. Sturdevant

Joseph S. Sturdevant, age 86 of Columbia Heights and Chandler, Arizona passed away on Tuesday, October 4th at his home in Chandler, Arizona. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia Heights, MN (4030 Jackson St. N.E. – Columbia Heights, MN 55421). Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia Heights, MN. Interment will be at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Joe was born on August 2, 1936 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Florence (Ladwig) and Joseph Sturdevant. He married the love of his life, Aileen M. Bies on May 3, 1958 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia Heights, Minnesota. Joe was a former Marine, Boxer, and a St. Anthony Police Officer for 26 years. He was the Columbia Heights Mayor, School Board Member, Planning and Zoning Committee, Grand Marshal, Columbia Heights Humanitarian and more. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Aileen. He will be deeply missed by children, Dave (Beth) Sturdevant, Dian (Kevin) Johnson, Joe (Melissa) Sturdevant, Brett (Ardus) Sturdevant; grandchildren, Brian, Andy, Alyssa, Eric, Megan, Joleen, Ava, Joseph, and Ryder; great grandchildren, Avery and Emilia.
