Judith I. Cooley, 88 year old resident of Brainerd, MN passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at her home in Brainerd, MN. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, August 12, 2024 at the Halvorson-Taylor Funeral Home in Brainerd, MN with Rev. Lowell Clarke officiating. Burial will take place in the Dykeman Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 P.M. on Monday, August 12, 2024 at the Halvorson-Taylor Funeral Home in Brainerd, MN. Caring for Judith and her family is the Halvorson-Taylor Funeral Home in Brainerd, MN.


Judith was born on May 19, 1936 in Little Falls, MN to the late Loretta Ringwelski. She grew up in Little Falls, MN where she attended and graduated from Little Falls High School. After graduating she went on to further her education at St. Cloud State University where she received her teachers certificate. Judith taught in the rural schools in Little Falls and Brainerd and later worked as a cook at Brainerd Regional Human Services Center. She was united in marriage to Robert Cooley on June 2, 1958 at the Assemblies of God Church in Little Falls, MN. Together the couple had four children, Gary, Doug, Janelle and Karen. Judith also taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Women's Mission Group at the Assembly of God Church for many years. In her free time she enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, crocheting, and playing the piano. Her family was always most important to her as she loved spending time with them and providing daycare services for her grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.


She is survived by children, Doug Cooley of Brainerd and Karen (John) Collins of Brainerd, MN; grandchildren, Jade & Josh Volkers, Jeni & Nate Weiland, Joshua & Kristine Cooley, Kaitlyn Gilbertson, Brennen Myers, Zachary & Jensen Myers and Levon Kahoutek; 20 great-grandchildren and nephews, David Ringwelski and Larry (Gail) Mickles.


Judith was preceded in death by husband, Robert Cooley; mother, Loretta Ringwelski; children, Janelle and Gary Cooley; and sister, Frances.
