Kelly G. Wroolie, 62, died April 26, 2026 at his home in Brainerd, MN
A visitation is planned on Friday, May 8 from 5 to 7 PM at Halverson Taylor funeral home in Brainerd. There will be a service on Saturday, May 9 at 1pm at the St. Mathias Park Pavilion with lunch and a celebration of life and remembrance following.
Kelly was born in Little Falls to William and Alice Wroolie of Fort Ripley. He was the youngest of nine children, and also a twin.
Kelly married Treasa Martin on April 25, 1987, they had just celebrated their 39th anniversary.
Kelly was the owner and operator of Wroolie Drywall, in the Brainerd lakes area since 1991.
Kelly’s hobbies included bow hunting, archery, fishing, dirt track racing, ice racing, and gardening.
Kelly loved working on cars and playing with his grandsons, especially chasing Archie with a stick. He loved being around people, Kelly never met someone that wasn’t a friend and couldn't be in a public space without chatting with someone he knew. He loved to laugh and make people laugh. He also loved and took a lot of pride in his Kubota; his Parallel Garden Hoe, which he held the patent for; and the ice racer.
Kelly is survived by his wife Treasa; their son Ryan (Paige) and two grandsons, Archer and Fletcher. Brothers: Bill Jr. (Mary Beth), Clarence (Gloria Bruns), Dennis (Cheryl), and Kevin (Beth).
Sisters: Linda (Peter Vos) Paige and Pam (Larry) Japp. Brother in law Robert (Angie) Martin. As well as many nephews and nieces.
Kelly is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dale in 1977, and Brad in 2026
