Lisa Hope Hanson

Lisa H. Hanson, 44 year old resident of Pequot Lake, MN lost her battle with cancer on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 surrounded by her family at her home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Halvorson-Taylor Funeral Home in Brainerd, MN. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4-7 P.M on Friday, December 15, 2023 and from 10-11 A.M. on Saturday , December 16, 2023 all at the Halvorson-Taylor Funeral Home in Brainerd, MN. Caring for Lisa and her family is the Halvorson-Taylor Funeral Home in Brainerd, MN.

Lisa was born on July 17, 1979 in Brainerd, MN to Jim and Charity (Buske) Bitzer. She attended Brainerd/Baxter Elementary and graduated from Maplewood Academy in Hutchinson. After graduation she enrolled and attended Union College in Nebraska. Lisa was united in marriage to Matthew Hanson on October 16, 2010 in Breezy Point, MN. The couple’s marriage was a definition of unconditional love and together they raised their two children, Cooper and Claire. Lisa lived her life with an open heart and great generosity. With these wonderful traits, Lisa naturally drew people to her, and she was always willing to help anyone without any expectations. Lisa will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and a very compassionate heart for others. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Lisa is survived by husband, Matthew Hanson; children, Cooper and Claire Hanson; parents, Jim and Charity Bitzer; brother, Adam (Katie) Bitzer and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Lisa was preceded in death by grandparents, Fred & Blanche Bitzer and Lewis & Gertrude Buske; infant sister, Rachel Rose Bitzer; uncles, Leonard Buske, Dale Buske, and Gordy Huffman and aunts, Dorothy Buske, Rhonda Buske and Sandy Stearns.
