Lois Marie Tyrrell

Lois Marie Tyrrell, age 88, of Brainerd, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Woodland Good Samaritan Society. Lois was born on September 12, 1936, in Bertha, to Ernest & Dorothy (Baerwald) Messer. She married Eugene Tyrrell and they raised two children.

Lois lived a life filled with love, faith, and a zest for life. In her younger years, she was an avid skier, enjoying both water and snow, and a lifelong bowler. She found joy in outdoor activities including boating, barbecuing, birdwatching, spending time at the lake, and as a supporter of animal and nature conservancy.

Her adventurous spirit led her to attend school in Minneapolis as a Registered Medical Technologist and to explore the world, traveling coast to coast, and abroad to Mexico and Japan. Wherever Lois went she remained deeply rooted in her faith, being an active member of the church community, teaching Vacation Bible School, and bringing a strong moral and spiritual compass to her life’s journey.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Norman (Xiaohong Zheng) Tyrrell; sisters, Renee (Rick) Pfenning and Carol (Russ) Oyster; grandchildren, Alexander Tyrrell, Ethan (Willy) Horn and Calissa Tyrrell; great-grandson, Grayson Horn.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; and daughter, Ann Horn.

Funeral service for Lois will be held at Halvorson Taylor Life Events Center (IN BRAINERD) on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 11AM. Visitation will begin at 9AM up until the service. The burial will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.
