Lyle F Krueger

Lyle Frank Krueger, age 96, passed away on March 21, 2025, at Woodland Good Samaritan in Brainerd, Minnesota. He was born May 11, 1928, to Frank and Mabel (Bentley) Krueger at the home of the midwife, Mrs. Siegel, on Third Avenue NE, Brainerd, MN. He attended high school in Portland, Oregon, and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy and the Coast Guard from 1946 – 1955.

Lyle married Beverly Eliseuson on September 30, 1952, in Brainerd, MN. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage until Beverly’s passing in 2007. On January 9, 2011, Lyle married Isabel Vogt. Isabel passed away in 2023.

Lyle is survived by four children, Steven (Kathleen Mix) Krueger, Donna (Terry) Cummings, Nancy (Mark) Eschenbacher, all of Brainerd, and Shelly (Gary) Miller of Big Fork; son-in-law Jeffrey Hawks, 17 grandchildren; over 20 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to Beverly and Isabel, Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lois Krueger and Bernice Edquist; one brother, Marcel (Bud); and his daughter, Joyce Hawks.

Lyle was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Brainerd, MN, since 1992, and served faithfully as a deacon to the congregation for many of his years there. During the final years of his life, Lyle was actively involved at Woodland Good Samaritan. He was known as a man of prayer and deep commitment to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Lyle’s faith was an inspiration to many. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and those who cared for him at Woodland Good Samaritan.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday April 1, 2025, at 11AM at Faith Baptist Church, (229 – 28th St. NE, Brainerd, MN) with Pastor Jim Goodew officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.

The family is grateful for the loving care provided to Lyle by the staff at Woodland and the Good Samaritan Hospice team.
