Marie Mae Sawyer

Marie Mae Sawyer age 86 a resident of Carefree Living in Brainerd, passed away on April 9, 2020. She was born May 5, 1933 in Brainerd, Minnesota to Florence (Yeager) and Martin Leckschied. She married Derwin D. Sawyer on February 14, 1953 in Brainerd, Minnesota. Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Derwin; son, Edward; granddaughter, Jessica; brothers, John Leckschied; sister,Ethel; and her parents. She will be deeply missed by her children, Randy (Janelle) Sawyer of Baxter, Craig (Janice) Sawyer of Brainerd, Susan (Peter) Sawyer-DeMaris of Minneapolis; daughter-in-law, Cindy Sawyer of Wadena; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. Marie was well known as the Pie Maker at the Barn Restaurant in Brainerd. Private services will be held. Interment will be in the Baxter Cemetery.
