Mary Schalz

Mary Ellen Schalz, age 83, of Brainerd, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Essentia- St Joseph’s Hospital. Mary was born on September 26, 1936 in Pine River to James & Josephine (Hanson) Oren. She married Virgil Schalz, and together they had three children. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Del (Collette) of Amery, WI, Debbie (Bob) Bates of Warsaw, IN and Peggy (Gene) Carlson of Brainerd; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Virgil; brother, Harvey. Funeral service for Mary will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 11AM at Halvorson Taylor Life Events (512 S 8th St, Brainerd). Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lake Edward Cemetery.
