Mitchell (Mitch) E. Stevens, 62-year-old resident of Motley passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by his family on Monday, September 4, 2023. Mitch was born in Thief River Falls, Minnesota on March 21, 1961, to Faye (Jenkins) and Gerald Stevens. He married Debra J. Solga on October 5, 2001. Mitch was a truck driver by trade for many years before purchasing his own company, Mitch’s Fuel Service. Mitch was known as “The Fuel Man” to many, delivering fuel for many years. In later years he drove dump truck for Ideal Construction and then worked for MNDOT.
Memorial Services for Mitch will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Motley Free Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment Motley Public Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry; brother, Mark; and sister-in-law, Sheila.
Mitch will be deeply missed by his wife, Deb; children, Erin (Todd) Judd, Bryan Stevens, Justin (Zoe) Stevens, Jason (Keri) Bendson, Ross (Sarah) Bendson, and Ashley (Keith) Trout; grandchildren, Reid and Kennedy Judd, Gavin, Ben, Brynn, and Kallyn Stevens, Taylor (Christine), Alexis, Jake, and Grace Bendson, Cameron, Briana, Brooke, and Logan Bendson, Isaac and Riley Trout; great grandchildren, Raelynn, Brantley, and Hayden Bendson; mother, Faye Stevens; brother, Mike Stevens; sister, Michelle (OJ) Judge.
Mitch loved going to the lake and watching the kids and grandkids, snowmobiling, and being included in the deer hunting group. If you ever met Mitch, you were a friend. He will be remembered for making his presence known, causing laughter with his antics, and will always be our “Legend”.
