Patrick John Raverty, age 41, passed away peacefully at home in Trommald, MN on July 25, 2025. Patrick was born on November 11, 1983, in Brainerd, MN to Greg and Ginny Raverty. From the very beginning, he brought mischief and laughter into the lives of everyone who knew him.
At the age of 16, Patrick was diagnosed with brain cancer on December 21, 1999. Over the course of the next 26 years, he endured more than 30 brain surgeries. Through it all, he remained unwavering in his sense of humor, his love for life, and his ability to make others smile.
Patrick spent most of his school years in St. Louis Park before graduating from Crosby High School in 2003. In 2006, he moved into the Life Support Services Group Home in Brainerd, where he found a second family and a true sense of home for the next 19 years.
Patrick never met a stranger. His warmth, kindness, and gift for connection touched countless lives. He found lifelong friendship in his Crosby High School classmates, including David Cash, Reggie Hakes, Jesse Williams, and Luke Brady among many others.
Our family is deeply thankful to the dedicated medical team at the University of Minnesota, especially Dr. Cornelius Lam, who walked this long journey with Patrick. We also extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Life Support Services for their care, and unwavering support, and to the many friends that have supported Patrick and our family over the years.
Patrick was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Joan Raverty; maternal grandparents Bud and Molly Milberry; uncle Butch Raverty; infant cousin Zachary Raverty; his stepfather John Savaloja; and John’s parents.
He is survived by his father Greg Raverty of Minneapolis and his mother Ginny Savaloja of Crosby; his sister Erin Erickson, her husband Neil, and nieces Maya and Emma Erickson of Apple Valley; his brothers Sam Raverty (Lovely Mae) and Elijah Raverty; and his paternal grandparents Richard and Dorthy Raverty. He will be dearly missed by his aunts Karen (Terry) Leitch, Kathy Jo (Adolph) Rono, and Linda (Bryan) Raverty; his uncle Tom (Carrie) Milberry; the Savaloja family; the Holt family and many other beloved family members.
Patrick’s life was a testament to courage, joy, and unwavering human connection. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
