Rhonda Cahoon

d. July 28, 2019

Rhonda Belle Cahoon, age 64, passed away on Sunday July 28, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. Rhonda was born on March 5, 1955 in Vallejo, California to Robert & Daisy (Doust) Storry. She married the love of her life, Steve Cahoon, on July 19, 1969 and together they had three children. Rhonda worked for Central Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge. Rhonda loved her family very much and loved her two grandchildren immensely. She poured her heart into many lives and opened her home to anyone in need, whether it be through an extra plate at the dinner table, a makeshift bed on the couch, or just lending an ear to someone who needed to be heard. She had a mother’s heart towards everyone, no matter what your age she loved on you like you were her own child. She spent many hours praying for friends and family and shared the love of Jesus with anyone who was willing to listen. Rhonda loved spending time in her gardens, boating with her family, and taking motorcycle rides with her husband Steve. Rhonda and Steve loved spending time together and truly were best friends and soul mates. They loved to just get in the truck and drive to where ever the road would lead. She loved her job as a cook at Central Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge where she could encourage and openly speak about Jesus with all the men. Family always came first for Rhonda, and she loved having her family around her. Many weekends were spent having sleepovers with her grandchildren, where giggles could be heard way into the wee hours. She was an amazing woman who was strong, beautiful, loving, kind, and will be greatly missed by many. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years, Steve; children: Rebecca (Kurt) Kurilla of Merrifield, Isaac (Missy) Cahoon of Brainerd, and Laura (Mark) Oaks of Brainerd; brother, Bob (Kathy) Storry of Motley; grandchildren, Natalya and Raiden. Rhonda is preceded in death by her parents; sisters; Mary Hinch and Sue Mrozek; brother, Frank Holmes. Funeral service for Rhonda will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 11AM at Brainerd Christian Fellowship Church (602 Juniper St, Brainerd, MN 56401). Visitation will be from 10-11AM, Saturday at the Church. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, near Brainerd.
