Richard Benjamin Holsapple

June 20, 1950 — December 10, 2022

Richard (Dick) Benjamin Holsapple, age 72 of Pequot Lakes, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 10, 2022. Richard was born on June 20, 1950, in Fairview township to LaVerne “Shorty” & Geraldine (Flanagan) Holsapple. He was united in marriage in 1971, to Lois Turner at the Pleasant Hill Community Church, and together they had 2 children.

Richard graduated from Motley High School in 1969 and from Staples Technical College in Tractor repair. He worked for Palmer John Deer, drove truck and worked as a mechanic for Whitefish Golf Course. He spent countless hours fixing on his tractors. He enjoyed ice fishing, spearing and deer hunting. He absolutely adored his granddaughters and loved attending their sporting events, and band and choir concerts. Richard enjoyed playing his bass guitar and his weekly Jam sessions at the Senior Center. He also really enjoyed playing at the church services at Carefree Living in Brainerd.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Lois; son, Troy (Tina); granddaughters, Madison and Kailey; siblings: Tom (Diane) Holsapple, Roy (Lora) Martin and Louise “Angel” Brown; brother-in-law, Clarence Turner; nephews: Brian (Bobbie) Holsapple, Mark (Jessica) Turner and Jason Turner; nieces: Dana Holsapple, Kathy (Dan) Rignell, Debbie Knowles, Teri (Tom) Savage and Sherri (Larry) Lucas; many other family members.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Shorty Holsapple and Geraldine Judge; daughter, Kia Dause; sister, Merrilee Martin; brother-in-law, Ralph Turner; sister-in-law, Benita Turner.

A funeral for Richard will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 11AM at Church of the Nazarene in Brainerd. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
