Robert Burgwald

Robert Kenneth Burgwald, age 87, of Brainerd, passed away at the Little Falls Care Center on December 24, 2021. Bob was born in Brainerd on October 19, 1934, to William & Esther (Villnow) Burgwald. He married Barbara Soderman at Bethel Lutheran Church on September 19, 1959. Bob worked as a supervisor for international construction firms. He and Barbara enjoyed country music, dancing and traveling. Bob liked racing fast cars, snowmobiling and his tractors. He enjoyed playing cards and going out to eat. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 62 years, Barbara; daughters: Valerie (Jim) Smith and Lisa (Nathan) Balstad; sister, Ruthann (Harold) Stearns; granddaughters: Bobbie Smith, Miranda Smith, Tela Smith, Emma Balstad and Rudi Balstad; great grandsons: Charlie and Maverick. Bob is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service for Bob will be held on Friday, December 31, 2021, at 11AM at Bethel Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Bethel Cemetery.
