Ruth Agnita Richmond, age 101, of Pillager, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at the Woodland Good Samaritan Society in Brainerd. Ruth was born in Eden Valley to Ernest & Cressie Mae (Bridges) VanVickle on October 9, 1918. She married Burt Richmond in Pillager on August 9, 1937, and together they had 10 children. Ruth worked as a prep cook for Madden’s for 20+ years, retiring when she was 85! Her nickname was “spud”. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Vivian (Butch) Rosekrans, Daryl “Yogi” (Carol Johnson) Richmond, Gloria Rosekrans, Kenneth (Sandy Killian) Richmond, Walter (Sheryl Salvog) Richmond, Edward (Sandy Doucett) Richmond; daughters-in-law, JoAnn Richmond, and Wendy Richmond; 34 grandchildren; 76 great grandchildren; 37 great-great grandchildren. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest & Cressie VanVickle; husband, Burt; 3 brothers; 1 sister; children: Arlyss Marshall, Anice Richmond, Herb Richmond and Wes Richmond; grandchildren: Kevin Richmond, Cammy Rosekrans, and Renate Wiegert; great grandson, Tyrone Marshall. Funeral service for Ruth will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 1PM at Halvorson Taylor Life Events Center (512 S 8th St, Brainerd). Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager.
