Sam’s untimely passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his stories and impeccable memory of life events. He truly brought the life to the party.
In his younger years Sam was an amazing baseball player, he was mainly the pitcher and also played centerfield and left field. At one point he had an "in" to become a NY Yankee, however, life took him in a different direction. He never lost his love for the game and the comradery within it!
Sam lived his life in the eyes of God. His favorite bible verse was Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. He would tell you that this verse got him through every challenge of life and kept him going in every event of his life. He was always willing to speak the Word to anyone in need, even if they didn’t know they needed it.
His success was in Sales. From the time Sam was a young man, he did his research in his line of work to ensure it aligned with his values first and then listened to the needs of his Guest’s to ensure what he was selling was of value to them. When he believed in something, there was no way you could ever say no when he knew the why behind it! Sam did his best to ensure anyone he worked with was aligned with the same value as he had high standards for integrity in all he did.
Sam will be deeply missed by his sons, Bryan Shirley, Paul Shirley and their mother, Melissa; grandson, PJ; sisters, Dawn (Ed) Rasmussen, and Angie Simon; niece, Shelby; nephews, Aubrey and Shannon; grandfather, Jerry Quayle; stepfather, Ray Caddy; loving Aunt, Elaine Benton.
He is now at peace, joining his beloved parents, Ronnie and Sue
