Sandra Rae Fletcher

Sandra “Sandi” Rae Fletcher, age 54, Deerwood, MN lost her five year, courageous battle with cancer on March 5, 2019. She was born in Wausau, WI, Sept. 26, 1964 to Dave and June Sorenson. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, niece, and friend. Her early public education begin in Ashland, WI where she attended Wilmarth Elementary School, Ashland Middle School and graduated from Ashland High School where she participated in many sports and organizations. In 1988 Sandi graduated from Northland College, Ashland, WI a private Liberal Arts/Environmental College, with a Bachelor of Arts degree, broad field major in Business Administration and Finance, with an emphasis in marketing. Sandi met her husband, Ed Fletcher, from Glenolden, PA, who was also a student at Northland College. They were married on May 26, 1991, the same day Ed graduated with his degree from Northland College. Ed’s employment brought them to Black River Falls, Antigo, WI and Brainerd, MN. When their daughters were born in 1997, 1999, and 2001 she became a full time, loving mom who was very active in their daughter’s school activities and high school athletics. Throughout the years, while raising their family, she always had a part-time job, the most recent was at the Brainerd Airport. She is survived by her mother, June Sorenson, and sister, Sharon Groom, Ashland, WI, Steve Sorenson , Inyokern, CA loving husband, Edward, three daughters, Heather, Kellie and Britney Fletcher, Brainerd, MN, aunts and uncles, two nieces Gabrielle and Karina and one nephew, Gus She was preceded in death by both her maternal and paternal grandparents. In October, 2018 she was preceded in death by her father, Dave Sorenson. She is also survived by many loving friends from the Brainerd area where Sandi and their family have lived for the past 20 years. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Halvorson-Taylor Life Events Center, 512 South 8th Street, Brainerd, MN (218-829-3581) visitation at 11 a.m., service at 12 noon. While flowers are appreciated, Sandi wished to have a memorial fund set up to purchase a park bench to have placed in her favorite spot.
