Sandra “Sandy” Ann Trana age 80, passed away peacefully on February 11th, 2026, at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples, surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 6, 1945, to Orin and Emma Christensen in Minneapolis, Mn.
Sandy was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was defined by quiet strength and unwavering love for her family. Her greatest joys were found in the pages of a good book and in the precious moments she shared with those she loved most.
She will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart, and incredible resilience. Her love will continue to guide her family, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Sandy is survived by her children: Cindy (Jeff) Spandl, Gary (Kristi) Trana, Kandi Trana, and Randy Trana; five grandchildren: Stephanie (Matt), Aaron, Alicia, Sean, and Nick; and three great-grandchildren: Finlay, Brekken, and Haisley. She is also survived by her sisters, Diane Dickman and Terri (Ken) Rubel; her brother, Rick (Bonnie) Pohl; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton “Bud” Trana Jr.; her brother, Robert Christensen; her sisters, Beverly Dukowitz and Bonnie Carsten; her sister-in-law, Connie Christensen; and her brothers-in-law, Ronald Dukowitz and Robert Dickman.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 6, at Taylor Funeral Home in Staples. Visitation will begin at 1:30., with a service to begin at 3:30. Interment will be at a later date at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.
