Scott L. Johnson a 64-year-old resident of Leader (LA) passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Essentia St Joseph’s Hospital in Brainerd. He was born in Staples, Minnesota on January 22, 1959 to Lillian (Bendson) and Gordon Johnson.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Motley Free Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Taylor Funeral Home in Staples and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Scott enjoyed fishing, especially at Lard Lake. He also enjoyed working on cars and Farmall Tractors as well as spending time on his four wheeler and taking Sunday cruises on his motorcycle. Scott was a past Heavy Equipment Operator and later went on to be a Grader Operator for Cass County until his retirement. Scott always had a positive attitude, a big smile , and always lived life to the fullest on whatever he did. He really looked forward to deer hunting season, a family tradition. Even if he didn’t go out hunting, or have bullets in his gun, (lol), he just enjoyed the time he got to spend with everyone.
Scott will be deeply missed by the love of his life, Jeanne; sister, Karen (Neil) Brownell; brothers, Curtis (Kip) (Debbey) Johnson, Greg (Diane) Johnson, Jeff (Linda) Johnson; many nieces and nephews ( who he loved to instigate and give crap too); sisters-in-law, Irene Johnson and Judy Johnson; and his four legged buddy, Ziggy Stardust Johnson. Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Gordon Johnson; infant sister, Linda; brothers, Barry and Lonnie.
